Lotte Ooms
About

Lotte Ooms is an ecocultural designer whose work moves between food, nature and cultural heritage. She develops new narrative forms to explore how our food and living cultures are shaped by myth, ecology and social histories.
Her practice brings together biology, sociology and anthropology, often focusing on overlooked species such as so-called pests and plants that are considered undesirable.

Materiality plays a central role in her work: she creates often with selfmade materials, respecting traditional crafts, using both natural and recycled sources. She considers taste as essential design medium, often collaborating with chefs to craft multisensory experiences that reconnect people with their environments.

Her work takes shape in many forms, from experiential installations and food-related collaborations to nature-inclusive educational programs. Through teaching, making and storytelling, Lotte invites audiences to reimagine their relationship with the natural world, both cultivated and untamed.
